About Mama Mocha's

Mama Mocha's opened in 2010 and is a locally-owned roastery that specializes in micro-roasting single origin coffees. The custom-built roaster can only roast up to 5 pounds of coffee at the time, so your order will be produced specifically with you in mind. Mama Mocha's offers a variety of coffees that are perfect for personal or commercial use (for a complete listing of these coffees, see the Products page). Mama Mocha's is a one-woman show that is owned and operated by Sarah Barnett.

Coffee Cuppings

Sarah offers a free coffee cupping every week, where you will learn about the origins and flavors of coffee and can sample them. When you decide which characteristics of each roast you like best, Sarah can custom roast a blend for you. Sarah will also let you sample the blends when they have been brewed different ways, so that you will know exactly how your coffee will taste when you brew it at home using your coffee maker. Meet the One-Woman Show

Sarah is the owner and operator of Mama Mocha's Coffee Roastery. She's worked at and managed coffee shops for the last 7 years, but she first came to Auburn to manage Cambridge Coffee. When the owners decided to close Cambridge Coffee, she starting working as a barista at the Gnu's Room. The owner of the Gnu's Room allowed her to transform part of the store into Mama Mocha's Coffee Roastery. Sarah loves dogs, music, coffee (obviously), reading, and baking. She lives with her 2 dogs (Judah, a 5 year-old Harlequin Great Dane and Dakota, a 4 year-old Rotweiller) and cat (Batman, a 1 year-old Medium Hair Domestic) in East Alabama.
